I recently conversed with two fellow ex “Tuesday Weekly” newspaper photographers/writers and we all agreed that working for the Tuesday was a great experience and we learned a lot from our tenure there. It was an interesting time working for the ‘alternative’ paper in Ellsworth. We never knew what our Editor, Wayne, would dig up for us to do. One minute I would be photographing a accident scene, followed by a few grip-n-grin shots, and then developing roll after roll of black and white film, and then printing the ones Wayne circled with a red wax pencil on the contact sheets. In Ellsworth at the time most were not receptive to the Tuesday and we ran some stories that riled a few folks up. Like one about deer poachers which ended up with someone leaving a deer head on the steps leading upstairs to our office. Shook up the person that opened the door for business up just a tad. Wayne and I were standing in the picture window overlooking State Street one warm evening. ...
